For months I did not know the lesson's point, but I now believe and see that God was working, though not causing, through the situation. He also taught me about free will, forgiveness, love, and on the illusion of control. There are more lessons - He is a good God - but these are the first that some to mind from the situation. It is true that Baptists are the only army that shoots their wounded, but God corrects us as we grown in grace and wisdom (and years!)...and He never leaves us but strengthens us and grows us though it all.
