Lost Hymns

Jesus, the Lamb of God
Isaac Watts
Rev. 5. 11-13

Come, let us join our cheerful songs
With angels round the throne;
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.

“Worthy the Lamb that died,” they cry,
“To be exalted thus.”
“Worthy the Lamb,” our lips reply,
“For he was slain for us.”

Jesus is worthy to receive
Honour and power divine;
And blessings more than we can give,
Be, Lord, for ever thine.

The whole creation join in one,
To bless the sacred name
Of him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the Lamb.

This can be sung to the tune of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" with a little adaptation:
Come, let us join our cheerful songs
With angels all round the throne;
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their wondrous joys are one.
“Worthy the Lamb,” they cry,
“To be exalted thus.”
“Worthy,” our lips reply,
“For he was slain for us.”
“Worthy the Lamb that died for us!"

Jesus is worthy to receive
Honour and power all divine;
And blessings more than we can give,
Be, Lord, both now and ever thine.
“Worthy the Lamb,” they cry,
“To be exalted thus.”
“Worthy,” our lips reply,
“For he was slain for us.”
“Worthy the Lamb that died for us!"

The whole creation join in one,
To bless the blessed, sacred name
Of him that sits upon the throne,
And to adore the precious Lamb.
“Worthy the Lamb,” they cry,
“To be exalted thus.”
“Worthy,” our lips reply,
“For he was slain for us.”
“Worthy the Lamb that died for us!"
