How Satan Destroyed America

I am a flag waver.  I blink back the tears at the sounding of the national anthem, my heart swells with pride when hearing the stories of my country's history.  I believe America is a nation blessed by God and has been used by God to do more for the cause of Christ than any other nation.

She's come a long way, baby.

According to Revelation 13, there will come a day in the future when the world will submit to one man who is indwelt by Satan himself.  The world will operate on one currency, one socialist-communist political system with nations having little to no individual sovereignty in of themselves, and the only accountability will be to the State government run by the antichrist.  Over the first couple hundred years of its existence, the United States of America has epitomized the exact opposite of what is necessary to accomplish the Enemy's final plan of total world supremacy.

It would be reasonable to conclude that the Enemy has done everything he can to destroy America, and in this article we will look at some of the ways in which Satan tried to destroy America, and what strategy he is successfully employing today.  This article isn't meant to be all-inclusive.  I'm sure the one who is wiser than Daniel has several other strategies that he's employed that I'm not aware of.  This article is meant to be realistic, not pessimistic.  I believe in my heart that there is still hope for our country.

First Tactic: Military Force

George Washington at Valley Forge
The most obvious one, destroy and enslave by military force.  Upon declaring its independence from the tyrannical English throne, the colonies were locked in war with the strongest nation on the planet.  The colonies represented religious freedom, freedom from the state religions to be found all throughout Europe.

They also represented economic freedom.  Under William Bradshaw, the colonies learned the hard way that Socialism does not work.  Before the War for Independence ever happened, back in 1620, the settlers of the Plymouth colony had entered into a merchant-sponsor contract with London that called for all the goods and resources gathered to be collected into a common store, with each member being owed a common share.

What resulted was a disaster.  Half of the pilgrims died, including Bradford's wife.  There was no motivation.  Bradford wrote, "For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men's wives and children without any recompense...that was thought injustice."

The next year he tried something different.  He tried implementing the principles of freedom and personal responsibility.  He gave every man a plot of ground to work, and individuals were responsible for what happened to them and their families.

The colony thrived.  According to Bradford, "This had very good success, for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been." Free trade with the Indians blossomed, there was more than enough food for everyone. This was just one principle that was instilled early in the hearts of our nation's founders.  Freedom and individual responsibility.

Under the antichrist's rule during the Tribulation, there will be no such thing.  All the world will be enslaved to a one world system that will destroy the idea of individuality, personal freedom and responsibility, and most importantly the fear of God.  Satan wants the people of the world to view their "god" as the State.  If the State is the supreme authority above all else, then all Satan has to do is rule the State and then he'll rule the hearts and consciences of the masses.

5/31 "Eternal Father"/The Navy Hymn

Today, in honor of my father who served in the U.S. Navy, and all the veterans who served and gave of their lives for all of us, I wanted to repost this devotion from the KJV Devos Blog. Thank you, soldiers!
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!

O Christ! the Lord of hill and plain,
O’er which our traffic runs amain,
By mountain pass or valley low;
Wherever, Lord, Thy brethren go,
Protect them by Thy guarding hand,
From every peril on the land!

O Spirit, whom the Father sent,
To spread abroad the firmament;
O wind of heaven, by Thy might,
Save all who dare the eagle’s flight.
And keep them by Thy watchful care,
From every peril in the air.

O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoever they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad praise from air and land and sea.

HYMN HISTORY:

“Eternal Father, Strong to Save,” or known to many as the “Navy Hymn,” has often been cited as the most popular hymn for travelers in the English language. It was written, in 1860, by William Whitting and has gone through numerous revisions to the present time. The hymn text was so well thought of, when it was written, that it was included in the 1861 edition of the highly regarded, Anglican Church hymnal, Hymns Ancient and Modern. It was set to the fine “Melita” tune, especially composed for it by one of England’s highly esteemed church musicians of the nineteen century, John B. Dykes. The present version is taken from the 1937 edition of the Missionary Service Book, where one of the editors, Robert Nelson Spencer, added the second and third stanzas to include a plea for God’s protection for those who travel by land and air as well as those on the high seas.

...It is generally believed that Whiting’s text was inspired by the vivid description of the sea’s dangers and God’s promised deliverances as recorded in Psalm 107:23-32. ...It should be noted that the the first three stanzas of this hymn are each addressed to a different member of the Godhead:

Stanza 1 – To the Father who created and controls the sea (Job 38:10-11),
Stanza 2 – To the Son who has power to control the elements of nature (Matthew 8:23-27),
Stanza 3 – To the Spirit, who at the creation of the world “Brooded over the face of the waters” Genesis 1).

The fourth stanza petitions the love and power of the entire Trinity and urges men everywhere to “Praise the Lord for His loving-kindness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men” (Psalm 107:31). More... Also, more @ website HERE.

Battle Hymn Of The Republic

Get a load of these high school kids singing. At the conclusion listen to the high notes on the trumpet, played by a high school kid! One of the fathers recorded it, added some graphic enhancements to the recording, and posted it on the web. The song, of course, is the ' Battle Hymn Of The Republic.' Be prepared - it could send a few shivers up your spine or at least a tear from your eye.
